Correct. Be aware of its widescreen color photography, it wasn't the norm back then.

American or made in the Non-USA? For a table scene of that kind, a lot of American movies then didn't paint a lot as so stark.

American. The fact that the film is so dark and damning of suburban America is why it's so highly regarded.
