I'm just waiting for EA to stop this Origin bullshit, which granted won't happen for a while.

I may or may not skip Stick of Truth as a launch title; I'd need to see a dozen or so customer reviews first, and I'd likely need a 25-30% discount for it before I'd jump on it at all. My main problem is with Obsidian Entertainment, which developed the game; while Obsidian is generally very good with sequels to other people's properties (Neverwinter Nights 2, Fallout: New Vegas), they've also had a history of game delays due to bad execution on original properties (Alpha Protocol), and rushed games with bugs (KOTOR 2). To be fair, it wasn't necessarily Obsidian's fault, if I remember correctly Alpha Protocol and Kotor 2 were rushed by the publisher and not by Obsidian themselves. True on the part of KOTOR 2, but Alpha Protocol got delayed two days before its original release, with the schedule set by a couple months, so that one wasn't rushed. Basically, Obsidian's QA is up and down.

It makes me so happy to know that there are a bunch of freeware games, made by talented, like-minded folks from all across the world, working mostly for free through the internet to make a passion project come true.
Of one of the games I'm looking forward to, this has immediately come to the top:

Just look at things like the new Skyrim/Morrowind crossover mod project and just the mod communities alone for The Elder Scrolls games! It's these instances (actually heavy investments of time heh heh!)that make me cringe every time I load up Steam and see another "Retro!!!!* pixelated platformer. Fuck on off with that *indie* bollocks and make a real fucking game. A decade ago we found that same shit for free on Newgrounds and ebaum's world but now because of a bunch of hipster twats it's $10 to simply invest in a "it may or may not work or even be finished" rip-off of a more popular game that becomes lost amongst its fellow pieces of derivative shit.
**Bonus "Triple Fuck You" if it has Unicorns, Ponies, the words "Epic," "Adventure," "Craft," "Flappy," or some other pseudo-pop reference.
Anywho, I've been in a rut with games and have been trying to find something to rekindle my interest a bit. I might give Skyrim Redone a try and download the Monster Mod that adds more creatures (sick of fighting so many humans...), but even then that's going to be a mega-fuckton of work for patching/compatibility ha ha!
