This is a thread I started on a non-related Spill forum and it was pretty successful. Thought I'd try it here. Basically this is a place to share your uncommon opinions. For example:
Call me crazy, but Howl's Moving Castle is a mess of a movie.
Feel free to discuss and I hope others post there more out there opinions.

Call me crazy (and many of my friends have over this opinion) but Avatar was a boring mess and was a major letdown.

Interesting...I do find Avatar a very flawed film, but I think some of its strengths are its focus and sheer entertainment value.

I honestly believe Pootie Tang is a great film.

I honestly think Howard the Duck is a pretty cool movie.
It's definitely schlock, but it's the best kind of schlock. I love goofy shit, and enjoyed the hell out of the effects and crazy writing in that movie.
It's certainly not "good" in the tradition sense of the word, but I can't help but smile every time I watch it.

Call me crazy BUT I think that video game/movie violence doesn't effect kids because kids are pretty fucked up anyways.

Call me crazy BUT I think that video game/movie violence doesn't effect kids because kids are pretty fucked up anyways. I think it all depends on the kid. For certain kids, video game/movie violence won't mess a kid up, but for others it could. The responsibilities lie more on the parents, especially since movies and games already have a rating system, at least that's my opinion. Call me crazy, but I really like Only God Forgives.

Call me crazy, but I really like Only God Forgives. Seconding this one. Call me crazy, but I hated pretty much all of the marvel films.

Watching Les Miserables was like listening to cat sex for 3 long hours.

Call me crazy, but I'm a huge fan of The Chronicles of Riddick, and not in a guilty pleasure kind of way. I legitimately think the movie is a lot of fun, and people just went into it with the wrong kind of expectations.

Seconding this one. Call me crazy, but I hated pretty much all of the marvel films. I like most of them, but they're all generally unambitious projects which play things safe. I enjoy them relatively, however I practically have to drag myself to watch any of them because they lack enough gravitas to keep me involved in the trailers, let alone through 1.5-2+ hours. Call me crazy, but I didn't find Citizen Kane perfect or brilliant, historical context, film influence, or cultural value be damned. I didn't hate it, to be clear, but I was a bit shocked by how unremarkable and flawed I found it considering wide acclaim and plaudits the film receives so frequently.

Kane's a great film. It isn't Welles' best, but I think it's pretty worthy of its acclaim. Not on innovator by any means, but a formal and thematic powerhouse.
Call me crazy but I unironically consider Kustom Kar Kommandos to be one of the greatest films of all time.

Call me crazy, but Crazy, Stupid, Love is probably one of the greatest movies of all time. This is not a guilty pleasure, Ryan Gosling is a stud, and I am a heterosexual man.
